Our Office Policy Regarding Dental Insurance

We accept and are PPO providers for most dental insurance companies. Contact our office to find out if we are a participating provider on your insurance company plan or you may contact your insurance company to get approval. Even if we are not a participating provider on your plan, most PPO plans offer out-of-network benefits. We do not accept DMO insurance or public aid at this time.

As a courtesy to our patients, we will file your insurance claims for each visit. The fees we charge for services are based on the procedure that is to be done. The fees are the same regardless of whether or not insurance is involved. Your insurance may base its allowance on a fixed fee schedule which may or may not coincide with our usual fees. You should be aware that different insurance companies and dental plans vary greatly in the types of available coverage. If you have any questions regarding your dental coverage, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly.

We are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims. We can only assist you in estimating your portion of the cost of treatment. We, at no time, guarantee what your insurance will or will not do with each claim. We will be glad to file pre-determination of benefits with your dental insurance carrier before your treatment is rendered.

What You Need To Know About Dental Insurance

No dental insurance pays 100% of all procedures. Dental insurance is meant to be an aid in receiving dental care. Many patients think that their insurance pays 90% to 100% of all dental fees. This is not true. Most plans only pay between 50% to 80% of the average total fee. This is all determined on the contract between your employer and your insurance company.

Your dental insurance benefits are not determined by your dentist. The doctor has to use the fees schedule that is provided by your insurance company. When estimating dental benefits, your yearly deductible will be included. The amount can range from $25.00 to $100.00. Again, this is decided during the contracting phase between your employer and your insurance company.
